PUSD Update to Families - 3/23/2020
March 23, 2020
I hope everyone had a restful weekend with family. Educators across the district have been engaged in a tremendous amount of content development and planning for the likely possibility of a longer school dismissal period than any of us first imagined. At the onset, educators planned for a 2-week closure. Now, with PUSD’s closure extended to at least April 7th (L.A. Unified just announced that their schools are closed through May 1st), teachers and staff are continuing to build resources and distance-learning plans that may have to extend to the end of May. This planning is complex and requires a tremendous amount of collaboration and thoughtfulness. Our goal is to be able to communicate any shifts in distance-learning to families and students during the end of this week and/or into the week of March 30th – April 3rd.
Additionally, we will push-out feedback surveys to families, staff, and students to get a sense of how things are progressing. Your feedback will help us in making any needed adjustments in our planning and content delivery.
Randall Booker, Superintendent
We recognize that some students have medications stored at school-sites for distribution by staff members. If families (all grade levels) wish to collect these medications, please come to Havens Elementary school, tomorrow (Tuesday) from 1pm – 3pm.
