Dear PUSD Families,
With the arrival of the winds and wet weather, all PUSD school sites have facilitated a normal rainy day program. Teaching and learning progressed as usual and recess and lunch periods at the elementary levels were held indoors.
I want to again thank our maintenance and custodial staff for all of their prep work in getting our campuses and facilities ready for the storm.
Please be extra cautious when picking up your child from school today. The roads are slick and visibility is poor.
We are continuing to monitor the storm. Please know that the safety of our students is a top priority and we continue to take the appropriate preventative measures to prepare for winter weather. We are also coordinating with the City of Piedmont and our emergency responder partners for additional support.
At this point, all our schools will be OPEN on Friday, December 12th. If there is a power outage, school will still continue as we have alternatives to address power outages. District staff will be ready to assist and address issues that arise at a school site.
If the weather should force a school closure in the future, we will notify you via email, phone (auto-dialer), and text. We will also communicate through our Twitter feed, the district and school websites, and send messages to the Piedmont Portal.
Should you have questions, please feel free to contact your school site directly.
